A visit to the Serpentine Pavilion

The Veretec team enjoyed a visit to the Serpentine Pavilion ‘Black Chapel’, designed by Theaster Gates with the support of Adjaye Associates. 

The team were particularly impressed with the observations that the pavilion was built largely from posi-joists more commonly used in domestic floor construction repurposed as columns with nine-millimeter thick plywood used as the skin. The result is a striking lightweight low carbon structure which we hope all will visit.
