Following a BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ award, 100 Liverpool Street is now confirmed as British Land’s first net zero development
The building retains half of the existing structure above Liverpool Street Station which allows embodied carbon to remain particularly low at 390kg CO2e per sqm. Quite an achievement for this large and complex site.
This is a further step towards British Land’s 2030 commitment for all future developments to be net zero at completion.
Nigel Webb, Head of Developments, said: “We are thrilled with what we’ve achieved at 100 Liverpool Street which serves as a blueprint for future sustainable development at British Land. We will never eliminate all carbon in development but with the right schemes, we can balance our emissions by supporting projects which truly absorb carbon from the atmosphere and have a positive local impact.”
