The new five storey landmark residential building is set behind the retained 1930s Art Deco front façade of the former Queens Cinema.

The development provides 16 high-quality private residential apartments, and two retail & commercial units at ground level, offering an active frontage to the street facades.

The intricate façade is constructed using three contemporary types of custom designed glazed terracotta panels in a mix of colours and patterns. This includes fluted cladding to the exterior which runs between balconies and terraces to merge between the inside and outside living space.

The project completed in 2014 and has won several awards, including Conservation & Retrofit Winner at the New London Awards 2013, RIBA London Award 2015, Civic Trust Award Commendation 2016, and a Commendation in the Schueco Excellence Awards 2016.

“Judges were unanimous in their appreciation of the Art-Deco cinema's conversion to new use.....it's really beautifully done.”
