Projects > CRL Building, Preston Barracks
Veretec are appointed directly by U+I to undertake architectural monitoring of the CRL building, as well as both the main contactor Graham Construction and architects Studio Egret West.
The Central Research Laboratory ‘CRL’ building forms part of the development of Preston Barracks, a significant mixed-use regeneration scheme for the city, and will become the new home for the university’s Business School - a new 50,000sqft hub for start-up and SME businesses.
As part of our role we are acting as 'Design Champion' for the overall quality, design and aesthetic appearance of the CRL Building including its co-working spaces and innovative business incubator; whilst advising the Client on the suitability and quality of the construction information being produced by the Contractor's architect, and commenting on the viability of any alternative solutions or products put forward by the Contractor.
Construction is currently progressing on site.
